Today I have prepared for you pierogies two ways:
The first preparation begins with cutting the pierogi shape from wool felt and folding it over to create a pocket into which I stuffed a good amount of polyester filling. The pierogi is then sealed with a few stitches of embroidery floss and a loop of satin string is attached for easy hanging.
The second pierogi preparation is very similar to the first. However, instead of being hung from a loop of string, a silver bar pin was firmly sewn to the back and covered with matching felt for a finished appearance.
Bonnie, the lovely lady behind Going Home To Roost, was sweet enough to allow me some space on her site to talk about my Dopamine Heart Pin fundraiser for the Parkinson’s Unity Walk.

I have also expanded my pin listings – Now you can choose whatever heart color you want … Click here to customize your pin!
Have a happy weekend!
That’s right … Four, count ‘em, FOUR finds this week! I have been adding things to my favorites like crazy because I keep seeing items I want for myself while Christmas shopping for others (oops!). Not sure if I want to start doing the collage thing for my Finds too … We shall see.
Enjoy the handmade loveliness!
Where you can get ‘em:
- Rain Cloud Brooch by Christina Dewey – Her shop is super-friggin’-cute! I love the simplicity and delicate craftsmanship that clearly goes into creating each of her accessories.
- Organic Cotton Scarf by Jenna Rose – Such a bright and fun color and I am loving the little pine cones on it.
- Origami Moose Journal by Juky and Beatrix – There’s a moose involved … Need I say more?
- Fresh Otter Embroidery by Kngo – Some fun, animal embroidery in this shop! Otters are also one of my favorites so I had to include this little guy.
Want to see how I make my Embroidered Apple Brooch?
It’s pretty cool to see your craft in steps – Makes you realize just how much goes into each item you create!
You can find this brooch here for purchase.
It would be a sweet gift for your favorite teacher!
I am so happy to have my camera back (well … so happy to have found it right under my nose). This weekend I had a photo shoot with some of my newest amoebas and parameciums:
These eco-friendly microbes would totally be the perfect gag gift or make a fun little stocking stuffer for that science nerd you know – I have them in magnet, brooch and keychain forms!
They will be making appearances in the shop throughout the week.
